The Convert Video option, which is a part of Disc Copier, oddly will not provide an complete list of my video files at the point that I need to select one for conversion. Some files are listed, some are not. The "missing" files have generally tended to be .avi files, but the program recognizes some .avi and just dones't list others at all. Have not been able to figure out why. And, I wanted to convert some of the files not listed! The video files area are all in the same directory too. No clue what's going on here.

Any advise?
Matt

An avi file is just a container for another kind of file.Common ones are Divx or Xvid.Could be your machine is missing the needed codec for encoding/decoding.

Matt,

Would you please download the GSpot Video Codec Information appliance [free] from here. Run it, and in Windows Explorer drag some of the 'missing' AVI files one-at-a-time onto the GSpot box.

GSpot will tell you what codec is used by each of these AVIs, and whether you have the right codec installed [up at the top right of GSpot].

What are the codecs used in the files that Copier9 won't show you? Do you have those codecs installed?

Regards,
Brendon
