After opening EMC9 running MyDVD, it brings up two dialog boxes:

"Please wait while Windows configures Roxio Easy Media Creator
9 Suite"

and..

"The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or
other removable disk that is not available

Insert the 'Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 Suite'
disk and click OK"

I've inserted the disk and gone through the steps but these boxes still come up every time I open the program. When I click cancel on the first box it gives me the hour glass then just keeps going with the green bar while reading "gathering information."

I think this started happening after I updated from Direct X 9.0 to 9.0c. Should that have anything to do with it?

No, the DirectX update, which is good, should not affect it.

You need to do a clean install, and don't skip any steps in the following link:
