After upgrading to a new PC, I wanted to use Backup My PC to restore some files that had been been on my old PC. The files were backed up to a external hard drive that was previously connected to my old PC but which is now connected to my new PC. When I select the appropriate backup file and try to restore it, I get this message: "This media contains no backups. It cannot be cataloged. Please insert a new media to continue." An internet search reveals that a few other people have experienced the same problem.

I never had any problem restoring files from the old machine. There is no evidence that the file is corrupted in any way. I have to believe that there is some data in the file which prevents it from being reloaded. It could be different operating system (W2K -vs- XP), different computer name, or some such.

I consider this to be a fairly serious problem (enough so that I will probably never use Backup MY PC again).

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
