Hi all, I have been a user of Roxio since Easy CD Creator 5 and I really like what they have done with it so far. My question, as it is in the thread title, is there any word, rumor mill or otherwise, on a Linux version of the software? I've searched the whole internet over and can't find any word on this at all. I ask because I installed Ubuntu 8.04 on my wife's PC after getting tired of Windows fouling up constantly on her PC, and I must say I am impressed with the speed and reliability of her system now. And the only 2 things keeping me from migrating myself are the lack of support for my TV card and the low quality of the video editing software out there for linux. I wouldn't mind paying for good software if I could get rid of Microsoft for good.
Thanks for anything.

The only people who would know the answer are those who work for Roxio and most of those on this forum are just regular users. My personal feeling is that as Linux grows, programs that run on Linux will as well and Roxio as well as others will see the writing on the wall and offer those versions.
I'm sure you are aware that there are ways of getting Windows programs to run on Ubuntu. I've not tried it with Roxio but do have a few Windows programs running by using Wine. Here's some info on doing just that.

ECD6 will run under VMWare - unfortunately, as VMWare doesn't support DirectX natively and also uses its own generic video drivers, none of the later versions will work properly
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed
