I'm new to DVD Studio Pro and am experiencing some difficulties with the quality of burn.
I've completed a project in Final Cut Pro, and Im trying to burn several copies of it.
Most of my attempts have resulted in some clicks and jumps and spasms occasionally interspersed throughout an otherwise OK looking DVD.
Someone suggested to me that the slower the burn rate, the more likely a finished disc would be to work flawlessly on a multitude of set boxes, and that he uses Toast to do his burns because it allows him to determine the burn speed.
I'm trying to figure out if that might be my problem.
If it's not, I probably have no need for Toast, but if that would solve the problem, i would buy it.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

If you have skips and glitches, chances are your data rate is too high for the player.
Try using a lower data rate.

Thanks.
It only happens in a few places throughout this 80 minute piece, and it always happens in the same spots.
However, I've just discovered that it doesn't happen at all with a different batch of discs, so it could be that i've got a bad spindle of discs.
I suppose there's a difference in disc quality from one manufacturer to another?
Does what I describe still sound like a data rate issue, and if so, how and where would I lower it?
If my problem is not something that will be solved by buying Toast, are there any other reasons I should buy it?
Thanks.
