I purchased the EMC9 Suite. I hope the following info regarding my system is sufficient.
Dell Dimension Dim 4600
Intel Pentium 4 CPU 280GHz
Micros Soft Windows XP Home Edition
Verision 2002 SP@
NVIDIA GE Force FX 5200
Also, when using VideoWave 9, if I click on Tools, Options, and click on software I loose a LOT of transitions. This was recommended to me by Roxio Support for the adding transition in middle of production to help with the "VW9 encountered a problem and will shut down" Do you have any other suggestions with that problem as well? Thanks
Kathie

The benefit is the program works. Your choice, crash and get nothing or have a working program???
You need to make sure your video card drivers are up to date and try the software rendering to see if that helps.

Next would be the Clean Install process –
The program has been out for about 2 years now and doesn't have any of the problems you describe. We need to find out what is incompatible on your PC.

I did the clean install just before I began making this production. Right now I can live with the transition problem, I just go to the beginning of the production and add all new ones. That seems to work right now.
But do you have an answer for removing the empty numbered spaces at the end of the production?
Thanks for your help....I am definitely "computer challenged" You know the saying "a little knowledge can be dangerous"

Two things to try:
1) Clear proxy files by going to tools, options and then clear.
2) If there are still blank panels there, then there is something that is keeping them open. Do you have any overlays, or transitions, you have to rmove them manually. Go to timeline view and make sure that all tracks are showing. I'll bet that you'll see somethng there. Delete whatever is there that you don't want.

I went to timeline and deleted any transitions that were there. When I went back to Storyline, the numbered boxes were still there with no transitions.
Is there a way to find out how large a file my production is? It shows running time of 44 minutes. Yet when I try to burn on a 4.7GB 120min. dvd. I cannot record on HQ because it says my files is to big. Yet when I change it to SP there is plenty of empty room on the dvd. Why such a big difference?
By the way I REALLY appreciate all your help and patience with me, as I said before I am "computer challenged"
thanks again

You will always have blank boxes at the end of the production. They can't be deleted, and there is no reason to anyway. They will not burn to the production.

It should burn if the project is only 44 minutes long unless there is a lot of fast paced video. When you go to burn, select best quality and burn to an ISO file Uncheck the other options. Name the file and where you want it saved. The encoding will take time depending on your computer.
Download and install VLC player(link). When the encoding is completed, open VLC and add that ISO file. It will play it on your computer just as if it were on a disc. If everythng looks OK, just use Disc Copier to copy the ISO file to your blank DVD disc.
If it is not OK, come back and let us know what the issue is.
Just in case, when you opened MyDVD, I assume that you did not select file new project type as VCD or SVCD but as DVD or DVD without menu.
