Exactly as it says in the title, i'm guessing i have to use the Data Disc function that's found in the Suite, could someone kindly give me a step by step guide on how to burn this VIDEO_TS folder that's on my hard drive.

Click on the drop down box to the right of Source, and select Browse for Disc Image........  The, browse to that Video_TS folder, click on it, and when it loads the video file that is inside the folder, click Ok.

Now, make sure that you burner shows under Destination, put in a blank DVD, and burn away.

Question, why does everyone think that is what one does, Drag and drop?

Have you ever used a burn program where you had to browse to a folder or file?

My inquiring mind would like to know!

     You do ask the tough questions cd!

I think because it is a simple term that simple minded throw out to make themselves sound important… (not saying that applies to roxio_rocker, clearly he has enough sense to at least ask when he is stuck)

It is a highly overused and misused term.

Oh as soon as you “drop” a few hundred files into the wrong folder across a network D&D will lose it’s luster while you pick them out of the existing 1,000 or so that are already in that folder! Then you move on to what the pros use, Cut/Copy & Paste!

Jim, i am no computer newb that's for sure infact i'm quite the expert. It's just that i'm new to Roxio and some features of the program has me boggled.

I'm planning to offload 54, 700mb files on to DVD, i first started by putting 2 of the episodes on to one dvd using mydvd, the encoding process took an age, and then i got this error saying there wasn't enough free space on the disk available.

So i thought s**t, PLAN B, make a Video_TS folder using copy and convert and then burn that on to DVD, i just didn't know how to do that but with your help i should be OK.

P.S. In future would recommend creating an ISO file and then burning that to disc instead of a Video_TS folder?

Basic rule in converting avi files to DVD is to FORGET the size - it's meaningless - think TIME instead

Rule of thumb is: one hour video = one standard DVD (about 2 hours for dual layer).

It's better to convert to iso first - that way if you need to run off another copy for one reason or another, you don't need to re-render - just stick in a disc and burn from the image

what's the best program to use to create an ISO file in Roxio?

Use Videowave to import the clip, send to MyDVD and select 'burn to image' file'

It depends on how you burn the file to the DVD.  You cannot burn it as a DATA file and put the .iso file on a dvd and expect it to play.

Just continue using Video Copy and Convert and you'll be able to burn the .iso to the DVD.  Just make certain that you know where on your computer the .iso file is stored.   Then  in VCC as the Source select Browse for Disk Image/DVD-Video Folder.

That's really a personal perference.  Video Copy & Convert burns both.  The only time I burn ISO files is for long term storage if someone might want a copy of that family reunion later. Much easier to keep track of only one file that way.

However for short term projects, I always burn to video_ts folder. That way I can double check my work before buring to disc with a DVD software player like PowerDVD. I check the menus and buttons to make sure navigation works the way I anticipate. I check button colors and background. Stuff like that.  

If the project is larger than the disc, Video C&C will shrink to fit in either case.

Roxio's Disc Image Loader lets one play the Iso Image file the same way as any Video_ts Folder set does. In fact once the Image is loaded you can view the Video_ts and Audio_ts folders, and play them with a DVD software player like PowerDVD. Several players like the excellent and  free VLC player, play the image and one can run the same checks as listed above.
