I am currently using Roxio Easy Media Creator 7 for a Windows XP. I have IE 6 and WMP 10. I already had the no new title issue, I resolved that one but now that I have finished a new project I went to burn the project onto a blank DVD, I insert the blank DVD into the E: Drive (my burner) and I click burn and it says no drive present, I can save as an iso, but I would rather save it to the disc. Heres the strange part, my drive is recognized when I burn to a data disc, mp3 disc, or standard CD disc. Its just not recognized from the DVD Builder program. Please help, I have been trying to finish this project for awhile now and its getting very aggravating. Thanks.

Check down at the bottom that you have the correct size entered - if your project is over one hour, it will assume you are using a Dual Layer disc and if it can't find that (ie, you have a standard disc) it will give you that error
Burning first to iso and then using Disc Copy will shrink an oversize production to fit.
You have to remember that file size is meaningless for Video DVDs - it's DURATION that is important

If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

Click on the Roxio icon on your desktop. Then click on Extras and Utilities, then on Disk and Device Utility. Does your burner show up there, and if so, what is the ID string?

It is set to 4.7GB and I have over 1 Gig free. Its a single layered disc. Thanks for the response.

Nothing is showing up in that window, that is odd, my DVD burner is recognized by my computer though, I checked it in the control panel in the system panel. It says device is working properly and like I said if I use Roxio to burn a data disc or mp3 disc it shows up and I am able to burn with it. Only in DVD Builder I am not able to access the E Drive. Thanks for the quick response.

I can save as an iso, but I would rather save it to the disc.
Try finding the .iso file and double clicking on it.
That should automatically open Disk Copier. See if that will burn the DVD. The .iso file contains all the information that is needed to burn a DVD that will play on a DVD player.

Thanks for the quick response.
Try this:
Go into Device Manager, and scroll down to IDE/ATA/ATAPI controllers. Click on the + to the left of it, and it will open up, and you will see the controllers. Right click on Primary Ide Channel first. Then click on Properties. It will bring up another box. Click on Advanced Settings. On Device 0, you should see Ultra DMA Mode 5 for the Current Transfer Mode. This is your hard drive, and unless you have two hard drives, hopefully you will see DMA if available for Device 1. If you see PIO, then one of your DVD's is connected to the Primary/ Slave connection in the motherboard, and it should not be. If it is, then your hard drive will be limited to the speed of your DVD.
OK, at any rate, now, highlight Secondary Ide Channel, and right click on it and go to Properties/Advanced Settings. That is where your DVD drives should be. Both of those should read Ultra DMA Mode 2, or 4, for the Current Transfer Mode. If either of those read PIO, then hit the cancel box, right click on Secondary Ide Channel, again, then click on Uninstall. Click ok, and get out of everything. Shut down the computer, then reboot. Windows will find the 2 DVD'S again, and should set them up properly as DMA Mode 2. Check in Device Manager to see if it did, and let us know what you find out.
