I am trying to burn a dvd and when it gets to the end of the burning process (Finalizing 100%) a window pops up and says that "WINDOWS has encountered a unknown error with Roxio Media Creator 9 and will shut down the program". I have tried various types of blank DVD's and get the same error. I have also tried the PX Engine Update and that does not seem to help. I can burn a music CD without any error and DVD's seem to work fine on that drive. Please help......Here is my PC information if needed:

SOFTWARE: ROXIO MEDIA CREATOR 9
OS: WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL
PROCESSOR: Intel Core 2 CPU @ 2.13GHz
MEMORY: 1GB SDRAM
STORAGE: 250GB
HARDWARE: TSSTcorp DVD+-RW TS-H653A 16x DVD-ROM
                   SONY CDRWDVD CRX310S 48x CDROM

Thank you in advance to anyone for your help.

No such program/application in EMC 9.

DivX is a format for a type of video compression that will play only on DVD players that are capable of playing DivX format discs.

Have you tried to play that disc in a DVD player?  I remember that some people had false error messages.

It is extremely difficult to guess/help you with a problem where you can't supply reasonable information.

Edit: I apologize to the OP for saying that there was no such appplication (see below) and for chiding the OP for provideing incomplete information.  mea cupa

Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

If I click on Video, I see DivX DVD's.... is that what you mean sknis? Or do I need new glasses to see DivX DVD on your posted pic!

cd

OK, it must be under Video Applications so perhaps I never noticed it.  I don't have EMC 9 on my computer now so I was going by an old image.

It is there under EMC 10 also and opens Video Copy and Convert.  What does EMC9's DivX DVD open?
