dry.gif I just purchased the EMC10 tonight. I had 8 prior. In 8 for some reaon it doesn't allow me to put any sub menu windows, so I purchased the new version tonight, but can't really use it for what it's designed for. I am having a major issue with 10; I prepare the entire DVD in MYDvd and preview it... it works great in the preview mode, but when I burn the disk and try to play it back in either my computer or my DVD player the screen is black other than the titles. The video will play, but it's kind of useless to not have the main menu background show up. How can I rectify this issue?

Please re-read what you posted since you apparently do not see  or you do see the menu and/or the videos.  Are you simply missing the menu background? Are you using one of the standard menus or are you making your own?

Computer specs, please, including your video card chip.

The issue you are seeing is typical of video problems but no way of guessing until you post more information.

Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

I am attempting to use the ready made menu selections. (ie Projector) Everything looks great in the preview mode prior to burning a DVD. After I burn the disc and put it in my DVD player that is hooked to my television, and if I try to play it back on the computer the background of the menu is missing...there are just words on the screen with nothing else. It does play the video clips, the main menu is just not there...it's just black background and music.

As far as my computer specs: It's an HP Athalon 64x2 Dual Core processor 4800+ / 2.51Ghz / Memory: 3.12 Ghz / Video card is: NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430. I am running XP OS.

Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated. I was also incorrect with my prior version of EMC...it wasn't 8 it was 7. In that program everything works great except when I try to build the DVD, I get the main menu, but no sub-menus on the screen.

Thanks for your help!!! smile.gif

Do you have Internet Explorer 7 or Windows Media Player 11 installed?  If so, both of them effectively kill EMC 7, and the only way to get it working properly again, is to roll both of them back to the previous versions, IE6 and WMP 10 or 9.

Life is good!

The nVidia 6150 is a chipset on your motherboard. Make sure you have the latest nVidia drivers for that chipset and the latest DirectX updates.

Then open MyDVD and click on the menu  TOOLS and then OPTIONS.  At the top of that dialog box you will see the graphics test button. To the left will be Hardware and Software.  Make sure the 'dot' is beside SOFTWARE and click OK.

Then try rendering your project again.
