Roxio -> Capture Does Not Recognize Sony Videocamera (did Always Before)

Roxio -> Capture  does not recognize Sony videocamera (did always before). What could be the problem? It's not on the device list even all cables are connected and videocamera is turned on.

Bad cable?  Check to make sure nothing is bent,

If you recently updated to IE 7 and/or WMP 11, roll those back to the previous versions.  Either will break 7/or 7.5
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

ok, it was cable this time. Had to buy new one. Don't know what happened to old one. Thank you for your time and help.

The simplest answers are usually the correct one.  A person named Occam (Occam's Razor) said something like that

A couple of us with Sony camcorders have found that the Sony cables work best with those camcorders.    I went through a couple of other brand name cables before I bought the Sony cable which has continued to work over a few years.
