I've downloaded the updated 10.1 file for EMC10 and was about to re-install onto my recently upgraded PC.
Kaspersky reports the following file as a trojan and instantly deleted the file.
The file is called Win32.agent.zan
I'm assuming this is a false positive but does anyone know if the file is needed or not during the installation?

It's a false positive. Disable Kapersky, prior to installing, as should be done when installing ANY software.

Thanks for the confirmation. I never thought to disable kaspersky prior to the installation as I usually do, and got this trojan report.
Just thought I'd check in case?

KAV 7, fully updated, reports \google_toolbar\gtinstxpesn.exe as containing 'Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Agent.zan'
Google Toolbar? I always thought that was a trojan downloader!!

You'd have to ask Kaspersky. I would think it isn't, but the installer may have some code in it which is close to the signature used by Kaspersky for Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Agent.zan.
