I am having problems with the computer (Dell Dim8300) recognizing that I inserted a CD or DVD into the PC ... it would take 5 minutes for the PC or iTunes (if it is opened) to recognize the disc.  I had installed Creator 8 Suite (C8S) just prior to the problem showing up.  So I had tried looking for C8S and Windows settings to default to iTunes but to no avail.

So on a hunch, I uninstalled C8S and the problem went away.  The disc was recognized almost immediately.

I reinstalled C8S again and the problem is back.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Go to start, run and type in MSCONFIG

remove RoxWatch from the startup options (and any other Roxio apps) - this will prevent them from auto-loading at boot but can still be called when you need them

Also, if you have installed IE7 and/or WMP11, this can also cause problems with EMC8 and previous versions

If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed
