I could get Easy Media Creator 9 new and cheap. I have a Pentium 4 computer with around a 3GHZ processor. I tend to read reviews online and noticed all the bad reviews on Amazon. I know this is not as bad as pinnacle but how reliable of a program is version 9? Is version 10 or Easy Media Creator 2009 any more reliable than version 9. Version 9 gives me the ability to edit HD files but I have no need for that just a nice thing to have. This program can be had for cheap on ebay new and seems like a good deal. I could have an extra program besides Sony Vegas 8 and Magix Movie Edit Pro 11. I do have EMC 7 one of those oem version installed on my computer so when I would be doing video that requires easy edits that what I would use over my other programs.

Buy it from Ebay and you will get what you pay for… We see that here all of the time.
If you have these other programs, why would you even want another? Stability problems come from willy nilly adding programs to a PC. The more complex the programs are, they sooner trouble will show up.

As long as EMC 7 is working fine for you, I wouldn't upgrade. As Brendon says, the more programs you add to your computer, the more you risk causing software conflicts.
However, DO NOT upgrade to Internet Explorer 7 or Windows Media Player 11 because one or both of them result in the DVD Builder portion of EMC 7 to stop working. The VideoWave editing portion will still work, but you won't be able to burn the DVD.
