Hi All smile.gif

I Have ROXIO CREATOR LE and when I put the blank CD in the CD Drive it says:

"PLEASE INSERT A BLANK OR REWRITABLE CD INTO THE HL-DT-ST DVDRW DL (E): DRIVE"

Nothing is wrong with the CD I put into the computer; how do you fix this to be order to record CDs again?smile.gif

Thank you All smile.gif

1. Posting under wrong forum.
2. Try using different brand/type of CD media
3. Try applying the latest engine update from here
4. If necessary, try obtaining the firmware update for the DVDRW drive from the system mfg.

to Firenhancer,

Where is the proper forum?  I've had this same problem, and still do.  I clicked on your link only to find that I have already downloaded that along with other various downloads and the program still doesn't recognize a cd.  If I use the windows program to load to my hard drive and then burn to the disc, it works.  Sonic doesn't.

Anymore suggestions?

EMC LE is a cut down 'lite' version or an OEM anmd it's possible that it was designed in such a way as to only work with the equipment it came with

Support for OEM comes from the supplier (HP, Maddog, Dell, etc) - whoever made the hardware that it was bundled with

For EMC forum - check on what you have - EMC 7, 7.5, 8 and 9 are under EMC Legacy, EMC 10 and 2009 have their own sections of the board

There are also sections for ECD Red Box and 4, 5 and 6
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

The Forum:

Calling it just "Copy and Convert" was fine until Soxio started calling Disc Copier "Video Copy & Convert" - then things got very confused.

Perhaps renaming the forum to "Copy and Convert 3" might avoid some confusion, but since the forums were first set up there have been a plethora of mini-suites, lite-suites, crippleware-suites, and OEM-suites sold and the forums haven't been re-worked to keep up with that. sad.gif

I think even Customer Support folks are pushed to keep up with the slicing-and-dicing, so I don't feel quite so bad that I can't keep up.
