I see this subject has been visited before, but it doesn't appear that anyone is addressing it or found the problem since 2007.

Has anyone had this error since?

Very doubtfuil - if it hasn't been reported (or if anyone has had it, they fixed it from the following links)

If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

hi,

I've got this error 1706 when updating/installing EMC8.05 (installer couldn´t recognise the "Roxio EMC Suite CD1"), and the only way to proceed in this situation, was copying the all content of the Roxio EMC Suite CD1 to one folder in hard drive "c:\Roxio EMC Suite\" than search/redirect in this folder the file *.msi that could not be found or recognised on CDrom.
