I am trying to "crunch" dvd's using roxio crunch. It shows my dvd in the drive but, shows a lock on it and won't let me go any further. any help?????

The lock indicates that the DVD is encrypted with copy protection. This is the case with essentially all commercial DVDs but should not be the case with home-created DVDs. If yours are commercial DVDs then you'll need to search elsewhere on the Internet for how to deal with copy encryption.
