How do I get Creator 10 to recognize my JVC Everio camcorder? I'm really new at doing this. I've got my camcorder plugged into the computer, but the program just isn't recognizing it. Is there someone out there to help get started, I'm really stuck.

If this is one of those camera that stores videos on hard drive then you should be able to copy the files using windows explorer. No capture is necessary. In the process you may encounter aspect ratio issues that can be addressed by following the link in the above post by grandpabruce.
