How did you do it before? What program/application?
You need an A/D converter or a Firewire. Some computers have a built in A/D converter (some Media Center).
What camcorder?
Did you upgrade to Creator 2009 or did you just post here witho9ut realizing that you posted in the Creator 2009 forum.

Please answer the question if you expect help.
What kind of camcorder? Make/Model? What capture device? How are you connected to PC?

No, it isn't the same. The 2009 should have tipped you off that it wasn't the same software. It is 2 versions behind the 2009 version, which came out a month or so, ago.
EMC 9 came out in late 2006.

No. It's not. It's very confusing, but there's an Easy Media Creator 9 which is this forum and an Roxio Creator 2009 which is a brand new program.
So since you've done this before, I'm guessing you're in the correct forum.
What are you connecting your analog cables to on your computer? If it's a capture card, perhaps you used a program that came with the card to capture the video?
If not, you need to tell us a bit more information about your computer.

I think that camcorder has an IEEE 1394 (firewire) connection and that's the connection that you need to connect to the computer for capture.

If you connect, via firewire, you can use a WinDV, a free software, to capture. It will retain the time/date stamp, and you can then use the captured videos in the Roxio software.

None of the Roxio prgrams will show the date/time stamp and as far as I know never did. You will need a 3rd party program to do this.

Analog tapes usually have the time stamp imprinted on the video tape.
Digital video has a time code that isn't on the video tape the same way that it is on analog tape and as Walt said, you need another program to do that task.

Here is one program that I use to put the date/time on the "digital" captured video. There are several others on the market maybe even some freeware. Just do a google search for "video date time stamp"
