I have just installed MyDVD Premier 8 but I can't burn anything because it can't detect my DVD Burner.
I have re-installed my previous version of MyDVD Studio Deluxe Suite, and it now does not detect my DVD Burner either. Any clues. I have to use Premier 8 to capture HD footage, so I can't use the old version. I was just trying to see if it worked.

I am able to burn CD/DVD through Nero, so I know the burner is o.k.

Any help would be appreciated. :)

You can try a few things.
Have you tried this yet?

In addition to what Paul suggested, you should be made aware of the fact that those two programs have absolutely nothing in common but a similarity in name.

IMHO, Roxio/Sonic made a poor decision to name the new version of DVD Builder, "MyDVD". It is confusing for past users of Roxio, but more so for past users of Sonic software.

Hi Paul
Sorry to bug you again, my problem has returned. I've only burnt one DVD and now MyDVD8 doesn't detect the drive again. I tried the earlier fix - but with no luck. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

AND SECONDLY: This is my first go with this program and I am finding it extremely tedious. When I select (for example) edit movie, or edit duration - it takes easy 25 minutes(and that's being kind - some functions take twice this length). I've just read other posts with the same problem.
Just as a matter of interest, do you (or anyone reading this) know of any similar products that may work more efficiently?

Thanks heaps
Narelle :)
