I am trying to burn a .avi film to DVD to watch at home using my macbook but when i burn it the video content is all distorted and unwatchable although all the menus are fine. One thing i noticed was the encoding process which on my pc could take up to 3 hours only took 20 minutes even though the highest quality settings were chosen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you know what codec was used to create the AVI? Is it DivX or something else? What are the AVI's specs?

Toast has DivX decoding built in so I have no clue why it resulted in a garbled video. What is its resolutions, e.g 640x480?
