Try a different brand/type of DVD media, and make sure that you have the latest firware for your burner.
Also try burning at 4x speed, and see if that makes a difference.
What brand of media are you using?

i use different brands of media, usually maxell or hp. we also burn from the tv at maximum compression, for example "extra long play" or ELP setting, to get 11 hours of movies on a dvd. my other programs like nero, real player, power dvd, they will play any setting and any brand, whatever we burn off the television.
but i was really expecting roxio to be as good or better, and was hoping to take dvd's i want to edit, and do this in the roxio easy media creator. is brand an issue? speed? where can i read about known issues?
thanks so much in advance for your assistance.

How do you manage to get 11 hours of video on a DVD? You will have to explain in more detail exactly what you are doing and what you are trying to do.
Media brand is definitely an issue and Maxell is near the bottom of the barrel in quality. Burn speed also has effect on the quality of burn. But I don't think that either of these should result in loss of audio.

it's frozen video, but the audio is playing fine. anyhow. lol.
as far as getting 11 hours on a dvd, we just get the normal dvd burners you hook up to your tv, and you can set it like you set a vcr, for regular play, slow play, extended play, or super extended play. super extended play lets you record 11 hours of movies or whatever, shows.
anyhow, all i was trying to do was stick a dvd in the media player and play it. the menu comes up where i choose my movie, and i hit play, and the audio plays.........but the video freezes. hm. i'll try to let you know if i figure it out.
thanks for taking the time. if you have any other ideas i'll be glad to hear them.
as for the brand of dvd, we just buy what's for sale at walmart or costco or wherever.

What media player are you using to play the DVD when the "freeze" occurs?
What are the filenames and extensions of the files on the DVD when you look at it with Windows Explorer.
To put 11hours of video on a DVD there has to be a very high degree of compression and in a format that EMC 7 propably does not recognize.
Have you played the DVD on another stand-alone DVD player?
What is the make/model of the DVD recorder you are using?

i think we've determined that roxio doesn't read video compression at that level. *sniff* oh well. i'm using roxio media player from emc7 when the video freezes.
we burn off the tv on an lg burner, and also off these generic burners you get at costco.
yep, the dvd's play on standalones very well. no prob. they also play on the 'puters other players no problem (real player, power dvd, nero, windows media player).
thanks for your time. appreciate it. truly! thanks!

I don't remember much about the EMC 7 Roxio Media Player (it was 5 or more versions ago) but maybe all it can play is the DVD that were created using EMC 7?
Can you copy the files from the DVD to your Hard drive using Windows Explorer and then load that file into Videowave?
