Hi

How do i set custom chapter markers within Toast? I don't like the automatic and the timed interval options.

Toast doesn't have an option to set custom chapter markers. It either uses the timed-interval markers or it uses markers previously existing in the video including markers made in iMovie or transferred from an existing video DVD movie.

Yes, but since I don't have FCE I'm not sure the steps to follow. I'd add the FCE export via the Media Browser. Choose Save as Disc Image to preview the result in DVD Player to see if the chapters are in place. You might also check the FCE forum at discussions.apple.com to see if there are posts where this issue was discussed.

I found this in a thread there about putting chapter markers from FCE to iDVD.

Before exporting your FCE project, in the Timeline, first Select All, then choose Sequence > Render All > Both. Next Sequence > Render Only > Mixdown, which merges all the audio. Now you're ready to export the project as a QuickTime Movie: File > Export > Quicktime Movie (and NOT a self-contained movie, unless you have good reason to do so), and at the options, choose Audio-and-Visual and Chapter Markers.
