I've been working on this problem for several days and cannot find a solution from Roxio. I've tried a clean installation, renaming Media Manager and retrying, scanning my system for every kind of culprit imaginable, attempted to install on a different drive - but it wouldn't, and I can't remember the rest of them - Oh, tried reinstalling EMC 9 and going with that, but it too got the same errors and wouldn't open the project.
Has anyone been through this before? I have a project edited, but need to make a change to the main menu (This is a DVD creation project). However, now I can't get the saved project file opened. It would be of great benefit to get this problem resolved as soon as possible, so I can go on to other things.
Any suggestions?

Try this:
Open a New MyDVD Project.
Add something and Save.
Exit MyDVD.
Open MyDVD and Open that Project.
What happens?

Well, the new project opened fine, but when I closed it and tried to open the one giving trouble, I still got the
errors. Now, I didn't try closing and saving the new one and reopening it, so I'll give that a go.

OK, I tried opening the new project, closing and saving it, and reopening it. That worked just fine!
Now, it looks like I've got to get around the other problem. Thanks for the new info. I'll let you know
what happens next.

Well for whatever reason, it looks like your original project file is corrupted.
You can try going under MyDVD - Tools – Options and clearing your Proxy files but if I were to bet, you are going to have to recreate the project from scratch.
And generally, files are not compatible between versions…
Actually it would be best to do the Clean Install again too.

Well, it's getting worse and I think you are correct to suggest I do the project over again. I tried to fool the
system last nigh, but got nowhere. I created a menu that was like the main menu on the original project and
saved it as something close to the original name. Then I went to the file and renamed it, renamed the original file the new file name and tried to open that one. No go. So, I think I'll start the project over again.
I appreciate your help...
