I have just completed a "Clean Install" of EMC 10 as instructed. The program actually worked well. MyDVD, and VideoWave, the two most problematic programs, loaded correctly, added movies in a reasonable amount of time, edited correctly, etc. I was actually able to complete my project (video compilation and slide show  through VideoWave), then editing and such with MyDVD.  I then burned the project with (MyDVD I think) and all was well. FINALLY, the program was working. My joy was short lived however. When I went to start a second project, same 'ol same o. Videos were taking several minutes to load in VideoWave, and then the program closed. Now it won't open
Error Message:
Microsoft Visual C ++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!  Program C:\Program Files\Roxio\VideoUI 10\VideoWave10.exe
"This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."

I have not run any registry programs, and defragragmented my drive with a very thorough NOrton dfrag program. I ran Ad Aware and my Norton Virus program and found nothing other than cookies.

I would appreciate anyones help.

I followed the instructions (had uninstalled/reinstallalled DirectX per reading posts last week) but followed your advice and tried again.

I rebooted and now MyDVD and VW will open, but with the same error message. I ignored the message (if I click OK the program closes) and tried some basic tasks in both programs and they seem to be working.  I would prefere to correct the problem, but will work around it as long as the programs comply. Will keep you posted. And again, thanks. Also, as a side note- I accidentally allowed a reg repair program to run a few minutes ago and of course lost functionality of EMC 10 completely (no programs would open). I ran the EMC 10 Repairer and it actually worked. Programs are openening again (with error message of course.) I will will give Roxio credit where due.

Well, it is good that you are up and running, sort of.  I don't know why you would still get the message.

Well-gave up and did yet another un/clean install. Took 4 tries this time before programs actually worked right again. Of course the first time I rebooted problems are back. PS won't open, nor will Media Manager. Get Run Time error messages when opening the Video programs. Am I an idiot or what? Where is the wonderful support I was getting? Please.

Yes Sir I am. Norton Internet Security 2009 and System Works. I no longer run the SW utilities as they are guarenteed to kill Roxio. I did find a new (to me) post suggesting replacing a registry entry with C:\Program Files\Roxio Shared\... I did this and installed a critical update that was suggested (even though I am not experiencing System Boot issues YET). I am going to do a reboot shortly and if I don't repost immediately you can assume I am having the same problems. Thanks again Sir for trying to help.

FYI I am now getting the following:
Runtime Error!
Program.....RoxWizardLauncher10.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the apps support team....
