Emc 7 Won't Initiate In Windows Xp

I used to be able to run this program well. After windows xp the program fails to start. Why??

If it used to run well, what OS were you using then ?? EMC 7 should run fine in XP. And explain what you mean by "AFTER WINDOWS XP" ??? If you have updated IE to ver. 7 that will cause it to crash. So go back to IE 6. Also same with WMP 11. Go back to WMP 9.

And don't forget the DEP (Data Execution Prevention) obstacle that had me frustrated for weeks before I figured it out.

You may have to re-install EMC 7 after removing IE7 and WMP11 - but bear in mind that both those were backports from Vista and have caused a lot of problems in XP

Hey, thanks for the thoughts. Hello back atcha! I've been lurking, mostly on GC. My knowledge of the finer points of EMC7 are fading fast now that I'm doing everything in Linux.
