USB Drive is not always properly detected on first, second or third attempt? Never had to go past 4. – Not a "problem" but odd.

Install went without a glitch.

One thing I did that most probably won't, was choose the Custom Install. There was choice to install CinePlayer. Since I already had it from Creator 2009, I chose not to install it. – some have installed it and report a different version number and some report problems that may be due to conflicts…

Windows Media Player 11 is required. I tried to get around this, but it will not burn without it! – Vista users don't really have a choice but for those of us living in the Stone Age of XP – SP2…

2 hours for download on a DSL… Not all that surprising considering the file in the 1.7GB range. – Dialup Modems? Your kidding right!

2+ hours to render for burning was more than I expected with Roxio but not out of line with other authoring software when faced with 1 1/2 to 2 hour projects and trying to pack them into a 4.7gb disc. CPU pegged at 100% for the entire time.

First Burn Follies - of course! I started my actual burn and 10 minutes into the burn, poof the power goes out!

Guess who has 4 computers and 3 backup power supplies? Guess who's Qflix PC is the one not on a backup power supply???

The buck for the coaster I can live with but I was concerned that it would consider the movie burned and not let me do it again…

To my surprise, someone anticipated my stupidity! It appears that the Burn Flag for the downloaded file is not set until the burn is successful! The Help file mentions 4 attempts are allowed.

I was also pleasantly surprised when the 2nd attempt render only took 13 minutes. I am guessing it kept the temporary image file it creates and only needed to check for license permissions and some other minor prep work.

I did not really notice the burning time but the first one looks like it was 80% complete in 10 minutes. Personally with 4+ hours used up before burning, I could really care less if it takes 10 minutes or 30 minutes…

Something that didn't - doesn't work for me is Labels… It is offered at burn time but I cannot select it. It is a Menu choice but not selectable. The Help file says that the Artwork is downloaded with the movie… I have filed a question about this but it could be a few days to get an answer…

So far the only real disappointments are the lack of Titles. At the moment they show 80 on the site using a rough count. It is less because there are duplicates, same movie listed in Drama, Thriller & Comedy. Also they claim 21 in one area and if you count them there are only 20… Of course you can do the critical math now but if it grow to 200 Titles, I am not wasting my day to prove them wrong!

Price wise it will probably be very close to what a savvy shopper can find.

Some will latch onto the 4+ hours between 'click and see'… They will rant and rave like this is something that is really important.

If I could offer you a backyard refinery that could produce 20 gal of gasoline for cost of $2.00 a gallon, would you reject it because it takes 168 hours (1 week) to do its' thing?

Something that will be a deal breaker for some is that these lack sub-titles, closed captioning and language choices.

The only thing I miss with these, are Extras that come with a commercial DVD Movie. I am one who enjoys them. I do not miss the advertising garbage of commercial DVD Movies that I am forced to endure before I can see what I bought!

No, you can update to WMP 11, without SP3. For now, I won't move up from WMP 9.

Is that the nagging pop-up that comes up every time I fire up either Videowave or MyDVD(?) asking if I want to update the WMP? I just ignore it every time.

So it just enables the Video Acceleration. I guess it's safe then to click ok and go ahead with the update.

Bruce, Jess, and I were talking about the 'nagging pop-up' running WMP 9. When clicked on, it's a MS update for (DirectX Video Acceleration for WMP 10) .

When I want to use Venue and Qflix services, I'll boot to the Dark Side 'Vista' laugh.gif WMP 11 included. smile.gif

Well I guess that pretty well settles it.

"Response (Joseph) 11/03/2008 11:20 AM
Hi there,Thank you for your patience. We currently do not have the ability to create labels for Qflix titles that are burned. Sonic, the company that makes the Qflix app, may have the option for providing DVD labels with other media providers that they work with, but the CinemaNow store does not offer this feature. Thank you for your understanding."

Anybody still think it is a user error?
