I've created a new menu and I want to add a short video clip that will run in a loop. I've tried to add it as an overlay but I keep getting this error message: Add intro movie operation failed. media file is not editable.

any ideas on how to make this work?

thanks!

What is the complete name of the software you have?
What program in that software are you using?
Please provide details of the steps you did leading up to that error.

That is not much help - there are a couple of dozen applications in Creator 2009! blink.gif Which ones are you using? What have you done so far? It does not cost anything to give us some information rolleyes.gif

What movie do you want to run in a loop? The intro movie cannot be run in a loop as it has to go directly to the menu after it finishes playing.

I edited my son's football video in Edit Video - Advanced.
saved it as a .dmsm file - the entire video is about 5 seconds.

then I went to create DVDs - Advanced.
open a DVD project.
selected a menu style.
I then changed the menu style/background to a black background that I want to use (since it was a Raider football team). the buttons work, submenu's seem to work, etc..

my question is, can I put the 5 second video on the main menu and have it replay or loop???  I thought I could do that as an overlay but apparently not. is there another way to do that?

thanks for any help!

Select Change Menu Background and select your video. It will of course repeat every 5 seconds.

If you want to keep the Raider background image, click EDIT BACKGROUND button.  This brings up Videowave with the background ready to edit.  Add the 5 second video as an overlay to that.  you can, of course, add it several times to extend it the length to the background.  When finished, click on RETURN TO MENU at the top.

------
After re-reading your questions and answers, I think I may know the problem.  You can not add .dmsm files as overlays.

Open Videowave
Load your .dmsm file and then render the 5 second video to a file.
Click OUTPUT TO FILE - the little icon that looks like a film reel.
Select DV format AVI
Click CREATE VIDEO

I chose DV AVI because when you add it as an overlay, it will have to be re-rendered again and DV AVI will give you better quality.

Then Add the DV AVI file that you saved to your MyDVD menu background when you edit the background.
