I "captured" my first VHS video that ended up being 1hour and 16 minutes long. I'm attempting to edit this into small "chapters" with some 20 - 30 seconds long. I got the first two to work correctly. The third one is 1 minute long but when I click on it, it still says it's 1hour and 16 minutes long. Is the source file still connected to this? This isn't as intutitive as I thought it would be... I thought I could simply export the first three chapters to show my wife what I was doing, but it began exporting the entire 1 hour 16 minute video. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

You will have to explain a bit more what exactly you are doing rolleyes.gif
Do you want to output your first three "chapters" as separate files?

BTW, in Roxio "chapters" are the same as what is called "scenes" on a commercial DVD. That is, chapters are just different entry points to a movie or Title. "Chapters" are only used when your author  a DVD.

Yes, I want to export the first three scenes/chapters as a seperate file.

-Launch Videowave
-add your video file
-save your Videowave project

-split your video at at the end of the 3rd scene
-select the video segment to the right of the split (the part you don't want in your output) and delete it (click the red X)
-save your Videowave project as First3Scenes.dmsm for example
-select "Output/Export As" and select one of the available output format (DVD mpeg2, best quality is a good option) and fill out the other options.
-click Create File  to create the mpeg2 video file containg the video making up the first 3 scenes.
