I have Roxio Creator 2009 Special Edition with SP1 update

I'm trying to capture VHSC tapes.

The problem I have is intervals between scenes on tape.
Everytime Roxio Media Import reaching end of recording (small intervals between recordings)
it shows popup window - "signal lost" with question to save to file and stops video capture.

Is there a way to set saving to file and re-start capturing automatically?
Without it is very time consuming to import tapes, basically I have to watch entire process,
everytime it reaches interval I need save file, rewind tape back to the beginning of next
recording and start over.

If it is not currently possible, could you consider it for future updates?

Thanks!

This is an issue that comes up with some regularity, albeit it with some variations. For example, its discussed here.

I've in the past captured my vhs tapes onto a separate dvd recorder (which records signal or no signal) and then captured that dvd onto my pc. ohmy.gif Hardly efficient, but no babysitting required. wink.gif

Depends on what works for you, how many tapes you have, and how much time you can be at your pc. smile.gif

Forgive me for bring this topic back up.
I was asking the following question bellow about a year ago... and wanted to check if there are any updates or changes in a new version that
may make the capturing experience better.

The problem I have is intervals between scenes on tape.
Everytime Roxio Media Import reaching end of recording (small intervals between recordings)
it shows popup window - "signal lost" with question to save to file and stops video capture.
This makes the capturing pretty hard since I need to sit next to the computer all time.

Thanks,
Sergey.

No, Absolutely not!!!

But I have found that it seems to be equipment related…

I used a new VHS tape and recorded off the TV forcing breaks of 5 seconds, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 45 and 1 minute between recordings.

It captured without any pause using 3 different PCs and 2 different VCRs for playback!

I also have a DV camcorder that has a 10 second break and capturing with Firewire proves to be a non-event…

Yet some seem to have capture break whenever there is the slightest pause in the signal???

Suggest you check the cables, connections and change source device (if possible).

Since I could not replicate the problem I was not able to try another brainstom I had… Run the Output Source through another Source.

Might end up all wet with this but if the Output Source is a camcorder, input it to a DVD Player then use the DVD Players Output as the capture source to the PC.

By the way, 2009 is up to SP4, I hope you have kept up?
