For a long time I was a happy "Toaster" but till today. Yesterday I burned some pics for our marketing agency and no problems. Today I want to burn some more pictures (on new CDs) and Toast tells me that he will need 5 CDs to burn 452mb. I used several blank cd, platinum, imation, philips but none of them solved the problem. They are all 700mb. I scrolled through the settings, got an update and even did a reinstall but none of that solved my problem.

So when I want a new project, tap on data, choose CD the space remaining says 96,6mb. When I drag my pictures in Toast, the total is 452mb and Toast calculates that it will need 5 CDs. The same is for music CDs but when I choose DVD it says 4,38gb so that workes fine.

Does anyone knows how to solve this problem?

I don't know what would cause that. I suggest going to your User>Library>Preferences folder and trashing the Toast plist and prefs files and relaunching Toast. Let me know if that is unsuccessful.

Nope, that did not solve the problem. The strange thing is that I used Toast yesterday with now problems at all. I did not install other programs or changed any settings on my laptop. I'm working on a MBP with 10.5 OSX.

Why yours is showing 96.6 MB instead of 702.8 is a mystery. Wasn't that what would fit on a 100 MB Zip disk?

As an experiment go to the Utilities menu and create a temporary partition (the 650 MB default will suffice). Then copy the pictures you were adding to the Data window into the temporary partition. When they are finished copying select the .toast file that is the source for the mounted partition (it should be in your Documents folder) using the Image File setting in the Toast Copy window. Can you burn this to CD?

Do you have Write Disc or Write Session checked in the Recorder settings window?

I tried it and it started good but it when wrong on the verifying, I got an error: "Mismatch at byte 1046/sector 58. Verification failed." I clicked "ok" and then got the message "burn succeeded" Huh? I tried the cd and was perfect. The strangest thing, everything is back to normal now!   When I click on cd it says 702,8 mb space remaining! I closed the program, run it again and it still looks good!

Write Disc is checked.

i'll reinstall full OSX...
