I just bought the physical version of Music Lab 10 hoping to be able to preview a CD track before I decide to rip it. Can't do it. It acts just like Roxio's version 9 which came with my HP PC. Older versions used to have a player installed. Is there any way I can play tracks before I rip, or do I need an expensive upgrade?

There is no actual player in any of the EMC versions, which is all I can go by as I don't have ML10.
In EMC 9 though there are controls at the bottom of the screen that allow you to preview a song.

Here is a picture I captured from Roxio's Record Now Music Lab 10 section. It shows the preview player.
