I recently purchased 9.1xe after using 7.5 for years. The only books I could find on the internet however were on EMC 8. Are the differences in the interfaces between 8 and 9 largely cosmetic or are there some major differences? Thanks to all that respond.

Well that had to be an Ebay Special since EMC 9 has been out of production for over a year
Then the "xe" indicates it is some OEM version which is probably cut down from a full retail version…
There are few differences in How things work between 8 & 9 but with that jewel you have the real question will be if what you plan to use is even in the package.

There is a PDF manual available HERE for EMC 9. If you download and read that you will both see what you haven't got in your version, and find out how to use what you do have.
