"film Strip" Transition Disappeared

I last used it yesterday, but today it's gone.
I opened a production I created yesterday where I used the "Film Strip" transition, and although VideoWave knew the title and displayed the icon, it wouldn't run it. It just skipped over it.
I rebooted my PC, but that didn't help.
How can a transition just disappear? How can I get it back?
Thanks,
Mike

I'm not aware of "film strip" transition in emc10....

The Filmstrip transition is a 3D transition. At the top of the screen, click on Tools, then on Options, then click in the circle to the left of Hardware, under Render with. The Filmstrip transition should now show up.
Now, you may want to click on that Graphics Test button. It will run through its paces, then set the dot to the left of Hardware, or Software.
If it defaults at Software, then you may have problems with encoding your production, if you put it back to Hardware.
Try that test, and let us know what it defaults to.

So does this mean that if I do a software render I can't select the "film strip" transition (it's my favorite transition!)? VideoWave let me select the film strip transition when render mode was Hardware, but it didn't remove it when I changed the render mode back to Software. Will it be lost or retained if I do a software render?
I ran the graphics test and it changes the render setting to hardware, though I've previously determined that my end-result is much better if the Software render setting is used.
Thanks again,
Mike

I do believe you lose 3d transitions w/ software rendering, which is what I always use, and perhaps explains why I never saw this as an option!

It may show, in your production, in software mode, but it won't render. You will probably get a dissolve transition, in its place.

Dang, I also lose the "Page Turn" transitions!
Is there a list of graphics cards where I can use Hardware Render and not lose video quality?
Thanks,
Mike

That card, although low end by today's standards, should be able to work with hardware rendering.
I use software rendering, because I find that my results look better, than if I use hardware rendering. Hardware rendering, in Creator 2009, is okay for me.
Oh, and I don't use the 3-D transitions. I mainly use dissolves.

Go to ATI site and update the drivers for the card (here).. Since you didn't post your OS (XP or Vista), I could not get to the exact driver you need. If it is the standard XP then it is this one. Double check to make sure. Installing new drivers is simple IF you follow the steps exactly. There will be a couple of reboots so make sure that you have everything saved.
Go to the ATI control center (it is inclused in the download). Set the card's performance to best performance and away from best appearance. Go to the 3D settings and set both anti-aliasing and isotropic filtering to application controlled.
Let us know if that helps.
(Sorry Bruce, I just noticed you were reading/replying to this post, probably with the same information).
