How do I convert a vhs tape to a dvd using a vcr/dvd recorder and then edit the tape ? Do I 1st use the the recorder to make a dvd then install the dvd into my computer and edit it using Creator SE 2009 ? Is there a way to connect the recorder directly to the computer and transfer the vhs tape to the computer, edit ,then burn a dvd ? Thank you, Thomas

Since you have the C2009 SE version you should also have recived the Roxio USB capture device. So I would use it to capture the video from the VHS (to avi format), do the editing and then burn to DVD.

You use a set of Audio/Video (Red, White,Yellow) cables to connect the VCR to the USB device.
