Dear

I am trying to create a dvd with pictures in a slideshow (sound on top)
Everything works fine in roxio, but when I burn it to dvd or even to a file(iso) or folder on my hard drive it goes wrong.
When I start the dvd pictures jump from 99 to 456, so 100...456 is being skipped for some reason? In roxio everything is ok. So something is going wrong when burning either to dvd or hd...
I tried several different dvd's, defragging my hd, updating drivers...

Please help me as a need this dvd tomorrow.

best regards

D

What program, in the suite, did you use to create your production?  You should me using VideoWave (Edit Video - Advanced), not any of the Assistants.

You then use MyDVD (Create DVDs - Advanced) to author and burn your production.

Do you have Roxio Creator 2009 or EMC 9? There is a 2 version difference rolleyes.gif

You should be able to launch Videowave from the suite Home page.

The OEM versions dont have all the features of the FULL retail Roxio version thats why you cant find the Videowave application. It will be missing other features too.

So if you will have to upgrade to a Full version to get the features you need.

OEM limited and crippled edition.  Most of the suggestions here may not work.  That is typical of a marginal computer, poor video card and, shall we say, poor computer maintenance.

First open MyDVD and go to the top menu, select tools then options, then put the dot near software.  Sorry, just relized that you have EMC 9 so you may not have those options.

Post you computer specs.  Update both your video card/chip driver and Microsoft's DirectX 9c. Get rid of any temporary files and deffrag your hard drive. (Use CCleaner ( google for it).

Again I don't know if you have this option but when you go to burn, do you see an option to burn to an Image file (ISO)?  If so do that and then copy the ISO file to your disc.

In any case, don't have anything else running during encoding - get it started and then walk away for a couple of hours.

Do you have only 456 images or do you have more?  Remember only one hour of best quality video on a single sided DVD; up to 2 hours at poorer quality.  How many images total and what is the display time for each image?
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

Laptop - Windows 7 Home
Dell XPS 1645, Intel I7 1,6G with overdrive ,4G RAM, 1 GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730, Sound Blaster X-Fi MB Panzer, 500G hard drive.

Apple =OSX 10.5

It should still work regardless of what program within the suite you are using.

The Video Card is used for a lot of the processing so you want to make sure its' drivers are up to date. – don't assume anything from the mfg! They use an image to format the HD and it probably passed QC in January!

If you are using the Slideshow Assistant you might try setting the Options – Render to Software.

Hi Guys,

thx for the answers.
DO you think the problem will be solved when I purchase the full version?

I already updated all drivers on my laptop. Did a defrag and also tried burning to a folder first and then to dvd.
didn't try the iso file, but guess it's the same as folder.
When I burn to a folder the ts_video dir is created and when I play this it also jumps from 99 to 456. then the files are read from hd, not even from dvd
It has to do something with the number 99-100. I tried removing pictures - sound .. nothing
I have around 500 pictures, the disc is only using 900mb of my dvd so space is not the error.
It reads from 1-99 then from 456-500 end.

Any Slide Show Assistant, that I have seen, allows 99 photos, max.  That may be the problem, here.
