When I want to burn an AVi to DVD I used to be able to select a basic menu for the DVD. Now this option seems to be greyed out in 2009. Has anyone seen the same thing, and is there a way to re-enable this?

Thanks,
Steve

Pretty vague but I think something is coming through… Crystal_Ball_Wizard.jpg

You should have Video Compilation selected then make sure it is set to a burner that has blank media in it.

The OK button will remain inactive until all conditions are met. But it is very shy about telling what condition hasn't been met…

Hey Jim,

I see all the former Roxio 10 geniuses have moved up to the new version!

I had all the conditions met, and I even burned a DVD properly. Still no menu selection.

That is Guru not Genius, big difference. Big!!!

Based on your answer I really have absolutely no idea where you are or what you are talking about.  huh.gif

How about starting from scratch and go through this step by step in detail?

No worries...sorry if I wasnt being clear.

I am trying to use Video Copy and Convert to take an AVI file and make a DVD out of it. Once I select an AVI to use there is an Options button on the right side of the dialog box, under Destinations. I click on this and an Options dialog box is presented. Under the DVD section you will see a item for Create a Main Menu. In prior versions I used to be able to select this box and it would create a very basic menu for the DVD. Now this is greyed out.

I can duplicate your problem.  It is greyed out, so you can't select to make a menu.

It does work in EMC 10, so it appears to be a bug in Creator 2009.

I have no preblom creating a menu under compilation ... as long as there are at least 2 movies in the compilation.
If you only have one movie and you want a menu, you could use myDVD

The OP has indicated that he wants an AVI burned, with a menu, which I believe to be 1 file.  It doesn't work in Creator 2009, yet it does work, in EMC 10, hence a bug in 2009.

I just tried in both EMC 10 (Build 111B12A ENU) and C2009 (Build 111B10E ENU). In both versions the Create Menu option is greyed out if I only add one video file.

Larry, for whatever reason, it looks like your EMC 10 version is a Creator 2009 version.  My EMC 10 build is 100B44B ENU, and it works with 1 movie.

Nope, it's a v10 only one Bruce. That pc has never had c2009 on it. I wonder if it was introduced thru the 10.1 update.

This is what my Help -> About is showing in the home app.
