Hi, I just got roxio creator 2009 for Christmas and am exited to create DVD's from my videos I take on my digital camera of my baby. They are all quicktime videos. After finishing my project I went to preview it and the only problem is that there is no sound with my videos. The videos play perfectly but there is absolutely no sound with them. The volume is turned high. Please help!

Some details please - how are you capturing them?

How is the camera connected to the PC?

Try this after you have answered Daithi'd questions.

Open Sound Soap, add that Quicktime file and then output the audio to a wav file.  When you have the video loaded into Video Wave, mute the native audio and add that wave file on one of the other audio tracks. It should be in sync but you can always adjust it a little each way.

Since you are brand new, you can get a lot of good information from karri's tutorials or from here..  I'll assume that you looked at all the tutorials available from the Roxio site.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

I have a Kodak HD widescreen digital camera. After looking back, some of my videos were from an old camera, an HP plain digital camera. And those files are giving me the trouble. They are not quicktime like I thought, they are a wmv file. I have some quicktime and they are working correctly, it is just the wmv videos that won't play sound.

I hooked the camera by a usb cord to the computer.
I downloaded a free converter to convert my wmv to quicktime to see if they would work then, but all the free converters have a large watermark in the video.

Do you have sound when playing the wmv files through WMP?
Is there sound when you load the wmvs into Videowave?
Does Windows Movie Maker play the wmv correctly.
There should be no reaon to convert wmv files to Quicktime format. myDVD and/or Videowave should accept wmv files without any problem. I do it all the time

Nope, I have no problem hearing sound when opening up the videos from other places other than roxio.

Does anyone know how to get a free converter without a watermark in it?

Okay, I can open up my videos in roxio's cineplayer and I can hear sound! But when I go to mydvd it won't recognize the sound. Can anybody help me? I used to have an older version of mydvd on another computer and these same files were recognizable. I just don't understand this.

Load the files into Windows Movie Maker and the save them as DV AVI for editing.  Windows Movie Maker is included with WinXP and Vista.

In this day and age, if you have a young child, you are going to want to capture the life, of that young one, growing up.  Using a digital camera is not the route your should take, especially, if quicktime junk, is the best it can do.

Get a decent high quality video camcorder, and preserve those precious moments, properly.

I found a converter for free called "Any Video Converter" and it doesn't have a watermark. I converted them and just made my DVD with my videos and the sound worked great! I still don't understand why my original file didn't work though.

I do have a mini DVD camcorder but the discs cost so much and they only record 30 minutes of video so I only use it for special occasions and then I use my digital camera for everyday fun videos.

Thanks for everyone's replies.
