I am trying to import video from an 8mm camcorder but when there are breaks in the signal such as when pressing stop and restarting on the original movie, the signal drops and Creator 2009 stops importing the movie and proceeds to create a file.  As I am importing older movies with lots of stop/start while filming I cannot always be paying attention to when this occurs. This is extremely frustrating to say the least.  Is there a way to tell the software to ignore when this happens and to continue importing the movie regardless of the signal it is receiving from the camcorder?  Any help is much appreciated.

Yes it is a pain...

Try using Windows Movie Maker to capture with. Does that work through the breaks?

- this is on my list of things to do (find a decent work around) but I haven't gotten to it yet...
