I used to have Videowave 7 and when entering video editing page used to go into FILE, then
STORYBUILDER production.  This put a theme introduction such as holidays or sports at the beginning
and end of the production with the film clips inserted inbetween.  Is this option available with 2009???
If so, I can't find a progam similar except MYDVD.

This reply is for both Jim Hardin and ggrussell.  With video wave 7 and storybuilder editing, there was more
user interaction and flexibility than cinemagic provides.  Cinemagic is too automated and does not put a concluding panel onto your production.  MyDVD provides the master introduction for the production like
a main menu tab.  The storybuilder option I used let you pick an introuctory theme ie sports, travel, with
preset music. Then you clicked and dragged your video clips in specific order.  Then you put your closing credits
which matched the introductory theme.  You could then click finish or edit production, which allowed you to edit the panels ie add music and transitions; in advanced editing mode.  When this production was saved, you had the option of putting your master introduction or menu at the beginning of the dvd.

I know it sounds redundant, but a production theme within a production theme.

I have yet to find the same flexibility on  Creator 2009.

Comments???

Sorry, lots of things have changed since V7.  Some parts are gone and other have been 'dumbed down'.  CineMagix has replaced StoryBuilder.

I just want to make sure that you aren't thinking about the wrong application.  There is a slide show assistant that does what you are describing that create a slide show of images with themes.  Go to the Photo tab and select "Create Slide Show".  In the third step, you can edit the slide show but I don't know if you can add video in place of one of the images.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

Velocity Micro ProMagix ©HD 60; evga x58 motherboard, Intel i7 @2.93, 12G RAM, EVGA Nvidia 560TI superclocked video card, SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme audio card, Buffalo external blu-ray burner; Creator 2012. PhotoShow 6, VHS to DVD 3Plus.

Laptop - Windows 7 Home
Dell XPS 1645, Intel I7 1,6G with overdrive ,4G RAM, 1 GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730, Sound Blaster X-Fi MB Panzer, 500G hard drive.

If you open VideoWave, then choose the New CineMagic Production, choose your options, etc., and click finish, it then pulls all that into the VideoWave application, which you can edit further.  You can also just create the whole thing in VideoWave, and use the vidoe clips from the CineMagic content for the beginning and ending. Would that help do what your trying to do?
