In Creator 2009 I can't figure out how to import a self created dvd video and then edit out certain parts to create a new dvd.

Easiest way is to copy the video_ts folder to the hard drive in the computer. Then open Videowave. Click the Button to 'Add Video' and point it to the folder.

Thanks for the rapid response. I may be beyond help.
I copied the dvd video from "D" to a folder in the hard drive.
But Videowave will not open. It is shown in the applications list under programs.
And it is not offered in the home page in Roxio?

Yes, Edit Video Advanced, but it runs the exact same executable file. Sounds like you may need to do a clean install.

Some progress. I removed and reinstalled Creator 2009 and Videowave loaded.
Then I was informed my video card driver needed to be updated which I did.
I could not import the video from the hard drive copy but I was able to import the video from drive D
It took about 60 minutes.
But with the video resident Videowave I can't drop it to the storyboard to cut out the parts I want to remove.
Any more suggestions?

What did you "import" it with?

What on earth is a 'video resident Videowave'???

The video is on a self created dvd.

There is some information missing, here. How are you playing the video, in VideoWave, if it isn't on the Storyline? Even if you can get it to Storyline, you sure don't want your production to be linked to a DVD.

If you have the DVD files on your hard drive, try this. Open VideoWave, click on File, then on New Production, and set it to 16:9 or 4:3, whichever your video is.

Next, click on Add Photo/Video, and browse to the Video_TS folder, which should be in the folder to which you copied the DVD. Click on the Video_TS folder, and you should see some .vob files. Click on the first one, then click on open.

You should get a popup box, listing the the movie or movies in that file. Click in the box or boxes to the left of them, then click OK.

Now, it may take a minute or so, for the movie to come into the Preview Screen and Storyline view.

Once it does, click on the Timeline tab, and do your editing.

Save, and save often.

Was the Video on a RAM disc?

LOOK at the disc. Is it a –R, +R, -RW, +RW RAM? It makes a difference.
