Add your text, and edit it to whatever you want it to read.  Click on Timeline, click on the text, in the text overlay track, and when the settings box pops up, click on the icon to the far right, and Start and End paths to however you want it to fade in and fade out.

If you only want it to show, on one photo, click on that photo, in the Storyline view, then add the text.  It will prompt you to add it to the production, or the internal track.  Pick internal track.

Then, click on the Timeline view, click on the photo, then click on Internal Tracks.  Then, click on the text track, and edit as per what is posted above.

When you are done, click on the Done button to get out of the internal track.

Grandpabruce,

You are always helpful.

I am trying to do the same thing, but I don't see the icons you mention.  I am using Videowave in Roxio Creator Small Business Edition , the copyright says 2007. When I click the text the right icon in the settings bar is Position which I don't know what it does even.

Do you know if this feature of fading text in and out was in this version I have?  I can fade overlays in and out, and the video, and the audio, but not text.

Any workarounds?

Thanks!
