I have v. 5.02c xp platinum
it doesn't recognise my plextor 24/10/40 writer
is there still an update available for this product
and where could I find it?

Get it HERE while it's still available.
You'll need the 5.3.5.10 Platinum updater, and also the "Drive Update for Easy CD Creator Platinum 5.3.5.10v".
Apply the big updater first, and then the smaller drive updater. Save the files you download, because they've already been taken off the US site.
