[REDWAGON]

Can someone tell me how I can add an attachment to one of my posts ? Is it just a matter of going to the appropriate file and clicking on "copy" and then on the post screen, clicking on "Paste" ?? I have tried that and when I am on the screen post and click paste, nothing happens. It's just got to be something simple I think. Either that or I am not allowed that type of function in this forum.

Frank, I'm not sure if this has been activated for everyone but below the text box in the reply are your Post Options and then File Attachments.  You brownse to where your file is saved and select Add This Attachment.
If you can't see this, then, most likely, it hasn't be set yet.  I believe I read where this may be the case.

Thanks Paul for the information. I had looked all through the optional settings in my reply screen but didn't find anything that would allow an attachment. I did notice the post options box below the text box but all I have for my permissions are three box options as follows:

ENABLE--emoticons..........................Checked
ENABLE--signature............................Checked
ENABLE--email notification of replies...Checked

I have found many times in a reply that an attachment (especially a shot of a Roxio screen) That really would help explain to someone what you are trying to describe in your reply post. Oh well, maybe someday the powers to be will allow me to have this perk. Until then I'll settle with what they offer me.

It would be nice if one of Roxio's administrators would explain how one gets this permission.

Like Paul says this is one of the things that only a few people have the ability to do,just like uploading avatars instead of having to use a url.I likewise wish we had this function available to us.

If you do a screen capture, and save it to a url location, you should be able to add it. You should have an icon (looks like a tree)
that when clicked on pops up a window for you to enter the url pointing to where your picture is stored.

Like this one is: (If you right click on this sleepy guy and pick properties, you can see the url I used)

Thanks larry for the information. I haven't tried that approach to attaching a file but will try and see what happens. I think Paul probably has the answer however to me not being able to attach a file to one of my replies (i.e. "Post Options" boxes under the reply screen). In this reply post I did as you suggested larry and as you can see, the avatar file I used for the attachment doesn't show. I do know why however. It's because the file transferred is in http protocol rather than the jpeg photo.

I'm still looking into this with my FTP program site address, to find out why but haven't heard by from the program manufacturer yet. Thaks again Larry. I hope one day soon I will be given this permission by our Roxio Representative.

I wonder if that storage spot is not readable by the "public". The url for the jpg you inserted looks fine otherwise. I know for me where I store these with the space my ISP provides, I upload it one way, but then when I want to link to the image (like on these boards), I have to use a different url that is readable by the general public.

Interesting.......

If I copy Larry's picture URL from the Properties tab into my browser and go to that site, I can view the picture.

If I copy Frank's picture URL, I cannot view the picture.   No error message.... It just sits there doing nuttin.

Interesting that you have expierenced the exact same thing as I have ml. And if I do what (I think it was Larry) suggested I can upload my photo to my personal website and there are even actual photos that I have posted there for anyone to look at. But when I try and download it to my settings on Roxio, all I get is the html language (which is desinated by the photo box with nothing in it except the little red X.

The Digital Data Save is a small local business I have for building custom computers (Not trucks) The custom truck is just a hobby.

Cool truck!

In order to get the address of one of your truck pictures, I right clicked on the picture and chose 'properties'.

I can insert the link into a message and link to the picture.   However, the path is too long to fit into the avatar box.  It cuts off after the word 'pond.'

So if you want to link to the picture, you'll have to move it up a level or two.

The picture and link that I used was this one :

Yeah ml, it makes a lot of sense. What happened when I imported the jpg photos to my website, I changed the name and also changed the size of them in pixels. That's why the properties for each photo shows that incredible long properties path. I have no idea why that happens, but suspect that the html language shows or indicates it somewhere in the web design.

In the mean time I FINALLY figured out how to use Roxio's avatar URL path to change my personal avatar. I went back to the original name of that jpg photo on my FTP site address and that did it. As you can see from my new avatar picture, I used the one of the engine compartment on my custom truck.

Thanks to all the gurus that had suggestions and help for my original post. Most appreciated . After all was said and done, it ended up beinga fault of my own changing some file names around. DUH !!! I'll know better next time

The avatar picture is the engine in a 1990 Chevrolet truck. The modified engine is a 5.7 liter (350 c.i.) "small block". The "Hemi" is the designation for a Chysler engine.

I think I will take ml's advice and change my avatar back to just the "Little Red Wagon", as the one I have now of the custom engine is just to small to really see all the goddies.

For now I think my avatar has been sloved as far as how I can chenge to a new one of my choice. Thanks to all that replied to my original post. I too, learned a few things just by playing around with it hewre on the Roxio forum. And that's good as far as I'm concerned.

Nope.  That's not my flying squirrel, but since they all look the same......

They're very difficult to photograph since they're nocturnal, don't like light and are 'squirrley', nervous little critters.
