Hi, I downloaded MP3 music to my computer to burn onto a CD for my car. The burn was successful but it won't play in my car. It keeps telling me Check CD. It will play in a portable CD player I have in my home. I was just wondering if it was just the player in my car that doesn't like burnt CDs. If anyone can help me let me know. Thanks.

Will your car player actually play an MP3 disc or is it limited to Audio CD's?

What did you burn the disc as an Audio CD project or as an MP3 project?

I selected CD project, but the music I used were singles from different MP3 sources. My car will only play Audio CDs. I have a few burnt CDs from a few years back that will play. I have tried 2 different brands and they were both CD-R. I didn't know if maybe it was just my car.

Try using Music Disc Creator, and make an audio CD, with the MP3 clips. Under Music-Audio, click on the Create Music Disc Projects button. Then click on Audio CD, and add your MP3s, and burn to a CD.

The option I have with Roxio Creator Basic v9 is to create audio CD for car or home CD player. I then click and drag my tracks to burn and the CD burns but will not play in my car. It will play in my CD player in the house.

Thread moved, to the proper forum, since your DON'T have Creator 2009.

You have a stripped down, free OEM version of the 2 versions old, software, and your car doesn't like what is coming out of the software. Upgrading, to a full retail version of the software, may or may not help.

Excuse me this program came with my new computer. I DID NOT know. I am sorry to have bothered anyone. I'll just go to the company and see what they can do.

You aren't bothering anyone. You could try a retail version of the software. Creator 2009 is the latest.

Actually the program should do it and it looks like it did since you said that it did play in another player…

Next common flaw is media! Auto Player are more finicky about media. They don't like RW's at all and prefer top of the line CD-R's like Verbatim.
