I could not remember this symptom happen only after sp2/sp3 application or due to other new Windows patch.
Symptom as following: (I have verify and confirm it happen with Winxp and Vista.
I have a directory in disk fill with CD images saved via creator copy to image function *.gi
Previously the following works without problem (when I first installed creator 2009 without any fixes)
Now I found the following:
1. If I use the advance data disk create function (previously know as creator classic).
It always hung and first *.gi image file for a long time and never end
I took away the validation function still same symptom.
2. If I cancel it, it prompt errors and send error report to Microsoft. The program never return to normal
operating mode until I kill it from task manager.
3. However, this work with Basic data disk creator function by using drag and drop.

What has happen to the advance data disk creator function? Was is a bug created with some recent sp pack? It was ok when I first installed Creator 2009.

It seem my problem is similar to
http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=47426
Looks like this function may be broken after sp2 application to version 2009.

Follow the pinned post above and do a Clean Install.

None of the SP's from Roxio have done anything adverse… You cited a one time inconclusive post but 2 posts among thousands of users is not conclusive…

SP3 is the current update.

Thanks, It was a clean install.
It was working when I first installed it.
Do you mean I should uninstall the current one and re-install it again? (after clean up)?

Download and try 2010. Suprise to me, this problem is actually fixed in this version !!!
Looks like returning ver 2009 is a good decision.
Now I have to consider whether 2010 is a good version to stay.
