I have several .avi files from the same group, all play fine (sound and video) with vlc media player, i create a dvd project (creator 2009) and burn it and some have audio, some not, video fine. I did it again and previewed them and sure enough, the audio was missing on some. i saved one of them via vlc media player to a different file - sound and video ok - and put it in a project, audio gone. i ran the avi file through a converter (AVS video converter 6) and that output changed the aspect ratio, and has audio but no video! What the heck is going on? Thanks for any suggestions or kicks. Just don't understand why it plays fine outside creator, but not inside. ??? Visually it is a good clean file. (each about 20 minutes.)

(Don't know where this fits, it is not a burn issue, not a playback issue.)

Start with making sure you have the AC3 Filter installed. Exactly what type of avi files are these? Divx/Xvid?
