I am a newbie to TIVO and Toast 10.  I am however computer savvy and electronics savvy(electronics technician retired- 40+ years experience).

I setup my TIVO HD XL, series 3 tivo.  I haven't had a cablecard installed in the TIVO yet.  I have been able to use a lot of functions however.  I have recorded live tv shows and playback same.

I installed Toast 10, setup TIVO transfer, inluding media key etc.  When I use TIVO Transfer, however, I do not see any DVRS listed on the left side for selection or any recordings for transfer listed.  What possibly am I doing wrong?  Does the cablecard need to be installed before I can do transfers?  I can't find any information that refers specifically to my problem.

I invite suggestions!
