I have a Dell computer (Vista 64 bit) which came with Roxio Creator 10.2 DE. Since it wasn't a full version, I bought and tried to upgrade to Creator 2009. I kept getting error messages during the installation so I contacted support - they sent them three pages of instructions on how to remove 10.2 DE and do a clean install for Creator 2009. I completed all the steps but when I tried to install 2009, I got the message that I had to have Creator 10 installed first.
I have an open ticket with Roxio - no response since 2/2/2009. I found the hot fix message in the disccusion group so tried that but when I tried to run the hot fix file, I got a message that "This is a valid installation...no clean-up necessary."
I am still unable to run any part of Roxio because I get messages like "the item MyDVD11.exe' that this shortcut refers to has been moved or changed so the stortcut will no longer work properly.
Any suggestions/help will be greatly appreciated!!!

If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

Thanks for the suggestion but as I noted in my original post, I found the hot fix message in the disccusion group so tried that but when I tried to run the hot fix file, I got a message that "This is a valid installation...no clean-up necessary."
Just for grins, I tried to install Roxio Creator 2009 again but got the same message that Roxio 10 needed to be installed first and then the same rollback of the installation...
It's a vicious cycle...the hot fix says the installation is clean and valid but Roxio Creator 2009 apparently doesn't know that...
