My recently created DVD (burned on EMC9) plays fine on one player but stutters and stops about a third of the way through on two other players.  What's wrong??

Common problem

It's down to the media you used not being 'acceptable' by the player in question

Moral - never use cheap media (use Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden).

Also, what may help, is using +R instead of -R (or vice versa)
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

Had this happen to a friend of mine that I had made a DVD for. After much consternation and ry outs I found out that his "old" DVD player would only play DVD-R disks. The one I had made for him was a DVD+R media. This is not an uncommon problem. You might try using another type media disk to burn your DVD and try that. And also try other makes of blank media.
